Coloratura from the word colorare, the italian word meaning coloring, is now used to describe a
style of vocal music that requires a skilled singer to achieve a difficult vocal
range above high C often executed flawlessly with great embellishment. It is sometimes used to describe a florid style of music from the 18th
and 19th centuries. But we say: why not apply it to outerwear designed in the 21st century!
